While Riley has loved art for as long as she can remember, she began her career as an artist in the summer of 2014, while on summer vacation from teaching. What started as a hobby slowly grew into a part-time job as she began creating things for friends, family, and co-workers, while continuing to build her personal portfolio of work. In June 2017, Riley left her elementary school teaching career to pursue fine art and illustration full-time.
Riley specializes in watercolor illustration, but also loves finding new surfaces to paint (seashells, ribbon, and picnic baskets, to name a few) with acrylics. Her style is whimsical and feminine, and she believes that inspiration can be found wherever you look for it. She is always open to new opportunities to create things that make people smile. She lives and works in Falls Church, Virginia with her husband and their dog.
